Wolves boss feels Chelsea ban a restriction of trade

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy believes Chelsea's ban on signing players could be classed as restriction of trade, reports the express&star. McCarthy reckons the Stamford Bridge club may have solid grounds for appeal over FIFA's decision to punish them over the inducement of Gael Kakuta, for which they were banned from signing players for the next two transfer windows.

"I'm sure Chelsea will be appealing against it and I have to say I don't know you can ban a company from trading, although football has its own machinations," said the Wolves chief.

"Can you tell ICI to stop buying or selling paint or tell Texaco to stop buying any oil or petrol for the next 18 months?"
