Kevin Foley is facing a further spell on the Wolves sidelines after undergoing an ankle operation.
The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international has been trying various treatments in a bid to return to full fitness, however, surgery is the only option.
"Kevin Foley is having an operation (on Tuesday)," boss Mick McCarthy told the club's official website.
"It depends on what type of operation he has as to how long he's out for.
"We always try conservative treatment but they're just going to open him up to see.
"I think it's only going to be a little clear-up operation so hopefully it will only be four weeks."
