Wolves' Berra rubbishes Rangers talk

Wolves defender Christophe Berra has rubbished rumours that he is set for a Scottish Premier League return.

The former Hearts of Midlothian centre-half has been at the Molineux since January 2009 but recent reports have linked him with Scottish champions Rangers.

But after two seasons in the English Premier League and with two years to run on his contract, Berra can see no reason why he would want to leave.

"I read it in the papers and Rangers are a massive club with a huge fanbase, you can never say you'd say no to them," he told Express & Star.

"But I'm enjoying life in England at Wolves and the Premier League is the place to be in to prove yourself - I'm improving as a player here.

"I've played 60-odd games in the Premier League, so I'd like to think my value has gone up.

"The SPL is going through a wee dip, Scottish football is in the doldrums right now and clubs can't afford to pay big transfer fees.

"It's just rumours and I'm not really paying much attention to it."
