Wolves are aiming to trump Burnley for Hamilton midfielder James McCarthy.
The Mirror says Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has made a £2million offer for McCarthy to outbid promoted rivals Burnley.
The deal is £1m guaranteed and the same again, based on appearances by the attacker voted the best young player in Scotland.
