Released Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari is wanted by three Premiership clubs.
The Daily Express says Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is ready to battle West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers for free agent Benjani.
Wolves boss McCarthy wants to offer former Manchester City striker Benjani, 31, a new start at Molineux after Roberto Mancini showed him the door at the end of last season.
Zimbabwean Benjani endured a difficult loan spell at Sunderland earlier this year and has not scored a Premier League goal since December 2008.
But McCarthy wants to bring in more firepower despite the £7 million signing of Steven Fletcher from Burnley.
