Wolves have added 63-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday and Liverpool striker Jack Whitham to their scouting department, reports the Birmingham Mail. Formerly a chief scout at Luton and Sheffield United, Whitham has worked with Wolves' chief scout Dave Bowman at Sunderland and for six months at Molineux.
He joins the European network under Ian 'Taff' Evans.
"Jack will strengthen our scouting network by coming on board and knows the sort of player Mick likes, having worked with us before," said a delighted Bowman.
"It will benefit the club because before it was mainly Taff and me going to games in Europe. We've been fairly successful in what we've done but with Jack coming on board it gives us the opportunity to break into other areas like Scandinavia and Spain.
"Going into these other areas with Jack's experience will help the club as we eye potential targets, particularly for the next window.
''We've also been able to bring in another guy to do match assessments in the south of this country which also frees Taff up a little bit more.
"On the playing side it's about bringing in new players but in scouting terms Jack is a major signing as far as we are concerned."
