Wolverhampton tour to Western Australia will include Chinese club

Wolverhampton Wanderers will travel to Perth in July for a two-week tour which will include two matches. One will be against Perth Glory and the other likely to be against an unnamed Chinese club who will also be on tour in Australia's west.

Glory owner Tony Sage said the tour will be a great opportunity for everybody and will be taken very seriously, especially by the newly promoted Wolves who will be competing in England's top flight next season.

"This isn't just two games for them, and unlike most touring Premier League clubs, this won't be a revenue raiser or a trip for the boys," Sage told WA Today.

"They're going into the Premier League for the first time in many years, so they will be taking the tour very seriously.

"We want to showcase Members Equity Stadium and show to the State Government that football is alive and well and can get 20,000 spectators and to put pressure on them to put in a new stand."
