Newcastle United's bid to bring Wolfsburg's Bas Dost to Tyneside appears to have hit a roadblock.
The Magpie are keen on the Dutch striker but the Bundesliga club have placed a substantial £30million price tag on the Dutchman.
According to express.co.uk, Newcastle have made verbal bids of below £10million for Dost, while Wolfsburg believe the £29million Liverpool paid for Hoffenheim's Roberto Firminio is a better indication of Dost's market value.
"I read about lump sum payments from £7.1m to £8.5m for Bas," Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs said.
"But then I refer to Roberto Firmino's example and say they [Newcastle and Dost's other suitors] will have to get used to higher amounts if any club really wants to buy Dost."
