Wolfsburg's Germany striker Patrick Helmes is interesting West Bromwich Albion.

The Mirror says boss Roy Hodgson has asked the Bundesliga side about their out-of-favour 27-year-old, who cost £7million from Bayer Leverkusen a year ago but is now available for around £5m.

The Baggies would prefer an initial loan deal, with a view to buying in summer.
