Southampton have reportedly identified Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost as a potential replacement for Graziano Pelle.

Saints are all but resigned to the fact Pelle will leave the club during the summer amid interest from a host of Premier League and Italian clubs.

The Daily Mail is reporting the Saints will attempt to lure Dost to St Mary's this summer in order to fill the void left by the Italian.

Dost is considered one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe, with the Dutch international having found the back of the net 35 times in 78 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg since joining from Heerenveen for whom he scored 52 times in 73 outings in his homeland.
