Newcastle United are believed to be showing interest in Wolfsburg's Nicklas Bendtner.

According to Bild, the Magpies could make a move for the 27-year-old Danish striker who is struggling for regular game time at Wolfsburg.

Bendtner moved to the Bundesliga club from Arsenal in the summer of 2014 but has started just eight times in the league for a total of 10 starts in all competitions.

Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is in desperate need of a new striker this month and it is believed that he could quite possibly go after Bendtner despite the fact he has not enjoyed consistent minutes at the Volkswagen Arena over the past 18 months.
