EXCLUSIVE: VfL Wolfsburg are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham winger Ismail Azzaoui.

The Belgian superkid has been the subject of intense negotiations between Wolfsburg and Spurs this past week.

Wolfsburg chief Klaus Allofs hinted last night a deal was close after their Bundesliga victory over Schalke.

"He (Azzaoui) is a player I'd like to sign," Allofs said at the final whistle.

Meanwhile, a source close to Azzaoui's camp has confirmed to tribalfootball.com that Wolfsburg are close to landing the teen.

"He is likely to leave Tottenham for Wolfsburg (before the transfer window shuts)," the insider told us yesterday.

Tottenham's decision to allow Azzaoui to leave is a surprise, with the midfielder rated among the very best of their academy talent.
