German club Wolfsburg are preparing a summer offer for Christian Benteke according to reports.

The Bundesliga side have been linked with the Belgian striker in the past and could go after him at the end of the season if Aston Villa fail to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Daily Mail reports that Benteke will be forced to take a massive pay cut if Villa fall to the Championship which is certain to have him looking for a way out at Villa Park.

It is believed that Villa would want around £25million but it remains to be seen if Wolfsburg would be prepared to pay that after landing Kevin de Bruyne and Andre Schurrle from Chelsea recently.
