Wolfsburg star Diego is prepared to take a major pay-cut to move to Atletico Madrid.
The Brazil international has been told he can leave Wolfsburg by coach Felix Magath this summer.
Kicker says Atletico are keen and have made contact with Wolfsburg about a price for the midfielder.
Diego is on €4.5 million-a-year in Germany, but is prepared to join Atletico on a salary of €2.5 million.
