Despite Christian Benteke's transfer demand, there's no reprieve at Aston Villa for Darren Bent.

The Daily Mail says the former England striker has been sidelined by manager Paul Lambert since falling out of favour last autumn.

He is being pursued by Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew but that deal now appears to have hit a stumbling block and Bent has attracted German club Wolfsburg.
