VfL Wolfsburg are fuming as Southampton close in on a deal for FC Basel winger Mohamed Elyounoussi.

VG reports Wolfsburg had a €20m offer for the Norway international accepted by Basel. However, Elyounoussi only wants to move to St Mary's.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund had also made enquiries, but Wolfsburg have now learned the midfielder only plans to join Saints.

A deal with the Premier League outfit has already been settled and he could join Saints by the end of the week.

Last season, Elyounoussi produced 30 assists from 44 games.
