Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Costa has emerged as a long-term target for Valencia.

AS says Valencia plan to open pre-contract talks with Costa in the New Year with the view to signing him on a Bosman in June.

The centre-half is inside the final 12 months of his current deal and has emerged as a top defensive target for Valencia chief Fernando Gomez.
