Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Costa has played down claims he would jump on the first plane to Valencia if they made him an offer.

The Portugal international is off contract in June and has already turned down a move to Galatasaray.

"I was joking, I said that I would catch the first plane to Valencia, but the important thing is that if Valencia are interested it is important to make a contract proposal in writing," said Ricardo Costa.

"Here in Wolfsburg, my situation is that they want me to renew my contract. I also received a proposal from Galatasaray ... and I, the player myself, said no."
