Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath has attacked English football after Hamburg's UEFA Cup victory over Manchester City last week.

Hamburg have already beaten Aston Villa this year and Magath's Wolfsburg overcame Portsmouth, with Schalke suffering the only loss at the hands of Manchester City.

"I am not a fan of this discussion that the English play such great football," Magath said on Sat.1 television.

"HSV were clearly better. There was a difference in class. The only quick football you could see was from HSV."
