Wolfsburg coach Valérien Ismaël says Philipp Wollscheid can still make an impact with them.

The defender is on a season-long loan from Stoke City.

"Philipp missed the preseason completely. Now he is hurt again. That did not make his situation any easier," said Ismael.

"We block no player from the pitch. Philipp is part of the team.

"He must find his rhythm to offer himself."
