VfL Wolfsburg chief Klaus Allofs is confident keeping hold of Kevin de Bruyne.
Manchester City are willing to go as high as £50 million for the Belgian this month.
Patrick de Koster, De Bruyne's agent, has confirmed contact with City and also expects Wolfsburg to get serious about a new contract offer.
"He will stay with us. Nevertheless, we said: We'll look at his contract again," said Allofs.
"Financially we will take account of Kevin's exceptional development. We try, so the best players with us also have the best salaries, so we will make a suggestion and I think we will very quickly find an agreement here."
