Woan to step in as Kidd replacement at Portsmouth

Ian Woan could be named new assistant manager at Portsmouth.

Woan could well step into Brian Kidd's shoes having impressed with his work in the Academy set-up since his arrival two years ago.

The former Nottingham Forest midfielder also stepped-up to first-team duties along with Paul Hart in February following the sacking of Tony Adams.

If the job were to remain in-house, another option could be Guy Whittingham, who is currently development coach.

Chairman Peter Storrie told The News: "I'm not sure who will be Brian's replacement. Paul's looking at that situation."
