Winning Premier League still provides Chelsea with Champions League window

Jose Mourinho suggests Chelsea still have a glimmer of hope in their quest to defend their Premier League title.

The Blues occupy 15th position on the league table having picked up just four wins in 13 fixtures which sees them 14 points off leaders Leicester City.

Prior to tonight's Champions League meeting with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, Mourinho spoke of his side's chances of qualifying for the Champions League again next campaign despite their early-season woes domestically.

"How can we qualify for the Champions League? I think we have to fight the next match," he told the club's official website.

"Now the next match is in the Champions League and we have to fight this match, believing that it is the way that can take us to Champions League football next season.

"After tonight we will look at the Premier League match against Tottenham and we have to think that with more than 70 points to play for, the Premier League is still a window of opportunity for us to qualify."
