Stoke City defender Kevin Wimmer has revealed that teammates persuaded defender Kurt Zouma to soldier on against Huddersfield Town.

City had to battle hard in order to earn a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day.

Wimmer has revealed that his teammates urged Zouma to finish the game despite the Frenchman picking up a hamstring problem.

Wimmer said: "Kurt was struggling but we said, 'Keep going you can't play in the Chelsea game anyway! You have a few days off to rest! We need you.'

"He was doing very well, struggling a little bit, had quite a bit of pain but I think he did very well."
