Saido Berahino and Kevin Wimmer have reportedly been informed that they are in contention for selection when Stoke City face off against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Monday.
The duo were demoted to the U23 squad last week amidst fitness concerns and did not play during the Potters 0-0 draw against Southampton.
However, Stoke manager Paul Lambert has said that the two could be in line to win selection when his side clashes against City.
"I just thought that Kevin needed a bit more fitness," said Lambert. "I felt the standard I expect should be higher.
"To be fair, he's come in and worked hard to get there. He's doing it. It has to come from Kevin himself.
"If he comes to my way of thinking, then he'll be in contention to play."
