Rafael Nadal has taken a stake in Spanish club Real Mallorca in an effort to help the club with its financial situation reports Goal.com. Nadal is known to be a keen football fan and has stepped in to help his local club. Mallorca is said to have debts of around EUR 85 million.
Michael Laudrup is first team coach, and Miguel Angel Nadal, Rafael's uncle, a football legend in Spain, has joined as Laudrup's assistant.
Nadal said, "It's an honour to be able to help Real Mallorca, I will help in any way I can.... I am proud to be a part of this new project put together by Majorca locals. I am very pleased to have Laudrup as the new coach and as the image for the club.''
