Wilson believes it is his best position and will prove key to the Potters' new direction, collecting short balls from defence to play through the pitch.
"I've played centre midfield my whole life apart from the last couple of years, and now I'm getting the chance to play there again I'm really enjoying it ," he told The Sentinel. "It's an important position in the way we are playing – and the way we have set up for the last couple of games has worked well.
"I think we are a bit more patient now. We try to wait until we see the opportunities to play.
"The manager wants to play football, get the ball down and create chances, and I think that's the best way of playing."
