Wilshere will ignore Team GB on advice from Arsenal boss Wenger

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is prepared to miss the London Olympics on advice of manager Arsene Wenger.

The Telegraph says Wilshere is ready to take the advice of Wenger and forego his Olympic dream in order to focus on returning for the start of the 2012-13 Premier League season on August 18.

Wenger has spoken to Wilshere about the importance of a proper pre-season and a gradual return to football as he continues his comeback from almost a year out with stress fractures to his ankle and Achilles.

Wilshere has accepted Wenger's advice and will not attempt to rush his comeback by committing himself to a two-week tournament, which begins on July 26 and then finishes just a week before the start of the Premier League season.
