Wilshere learning lessons as he strives to shake Arsenal injury tag

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says he now knows what he should be doing in order to avoid serious injuries.

The 24-year-old England international has struggled for continuity over the past few seasons while dealing with a series of ankle, foot and leg problems but feels the penny has now dropped on how he can get himself to full fitness and stay away from the issues that have impacted his Gunners career.

"I know my body better than ever now, I know what it can and can't do," said Wilshere.

"My body can do most things, it just can't go into ridiculous challenges. I know that, especially in training.

"That was the frustrating thing about last year. My injury didn't happen in the Community Shield, it wasn't in a big game in the Premier League, it was in a training session before the Community Shield.

"I know that my body is capable of training a lot, and putting myself through hard sessions and getting fitter. But going into stupid tackles is one thing that I will be avoiding.

"I think it's more difficult in a game, but in training I can take myself out of those situations quite easily. I will definitely be working on not going into challenges that are 20-80."
