Wilshere: England World Cup disappointment now a distant memory

Jack Wilshere says England's early World Cup exit just four months ago has been forgotten after three wins out of three in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. "It is credit to the manager and his coaching staff that the World Cup is consigned to history," England midfielder Wilshere said.

"The first meet-up after the World Cup, we went through it and that was it.

"Maybe the game against Switzerland (a 2-0 win in Basle last month) helped where people didn't expect us to do much but we went there and showed we have still got the quality that is required for this level.

"We have pushed on from that game now and we are looking forward. We are taking each game as it comes and we'll look forward to the next ones."
