England midfielder Jack Wilshere believes Gareth Southgate is the right man to take over England on a permanent basis.
Southgate's four match trial in charge of the national team ends after the friendly against Spain on Tuesday night.
Arsenal's Wilshere, currently on loan with Bournemouth said: "For me, I really like honest managers and I like managers who come and speak to you, so I'm looking forward to hopefully working with him in the future.
"He's been good, we've had a few conversations and he explained to me his reasons for not picking me last time and that he never questioned my ability, it was just a matter of fitness.
"He's been involved with the Under-21s for a few years and enjoyed success with them too, he gave them an identity in the way they want to play and hopefully he can bring that to the senior team."
