Mike Williamson says he is ready to return to the Newcastle United line-up after spending some time on the sidelines.
The 28-year old defender has been out of action with an ankle problem since August but could soon step into the vacant centre-half position left by Steven Taylor who is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign with an Achilles injury.
"I can't wait to be back. I'm looking forward to the buzz of playing again," he told the Evening Chronicle.
"It's great that the lads have been doing so well this season and as a player you just want to be out there and join them.
"The aim is to be back out there as quickly as possible and playing again in front of our great supporters."
