Mike Williamson suggests that the Newcastle United back four will be ok without captain Fabricio Coloccini.
Already missing Steven Taylor, the Magpies defence took another blow when Argentine ace Coloccini went down with a hamstring injury during last weekend's 3-1 win at West Bromwich Albion.
The skipper is now expected to miss two or three matches but Williamson feels he can form a good central defensive partnership with usual full-back James Perch who stepped in on the weekend.
"Colo been huge for us this season. He's not only our captain, but also a fantastic player.
"But the second half at West Brom showed that we have enough in the squad to cope without him while he is out.
"Perchy came into the middle and he has been one of our best players in recent weeks.
"He proved again that he can step in, be it at left-back, centre-half or wherever, and do a brilliant job.""It's a big loss," he told the club's official website ahead of the weekend's home meeting with Liverpool.
