Ashley Williams has pledged his allegiance to Swansea City after signing a new contract.

The 25-year old defender put pen to a new four-year deal with the Swans and was delighted to have committed himself to the club he joined in March 2008.

"I'm pleased to commit my future for the next four years," he said. "Things are looking up on and off the pitch and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

"The gaffer (Paulo Sousa) said I was a big part of his plans and wanted me to stay longer. I enjoy working with him so it didn't take me long to come to an agreement with the club over this new deal."
