William Weijs has rejected an offer from Liverpool to extend his coaching contract with Ajax.
The youth coach was a target for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as he seeks to plug gaps in his academy staff.
But Weijs, 27, has signed a new one-year deal with Ajax, which includes a two-year option.
"Obviously I was flattered by the interest, but working with Ajax is satisfactory," he said.
"I am staying because talent breaks through more here and not so much in England. For my personal development it is always best that I stayed with Ajax."
