Dutch defender William Ekong has signed a new deal with Tottenham.

The Holland youth international has inked a new 12-month contract at Spurs.

"I am certainly very happy," Ekong told the Sports Promotion website. "That the club now uses the option to renew my contract, means that they trust me. That's what the coaches told me personally also. So yes, I am awfully happy about it."

Ekong also revealed: "The coaches have indicated that next season I'll actually have more matches to play. And preferably at a higher level. That can be with a club in the Championship. Or in the Netherlands."
