Dan Williams hopes to close his £45 million takeover of Blackburn Rovers in time to give manager Mark Hughes a chance to make last-minute additions to his squad next week.
The Mirror says Williams is willing to hand Hughes a £25 million transfer kitty, which will also be available for the January market.
Williams is desperate to keep Hughes, who may find himself head-hunted after a fine start to his career in club management.
Williams will pick up the club's current debts, estimated at around £20m, and hopes to bring in further backers to make Rovers one of the richest outfits around.
