Wilkinson: Stoke need early away goal to progress in Europa League

An away goal against Hajduk Split on Thursday should be enough to secure Stoke's progress in the Europa League, claims defender Andy Wilkinson. The Potters take a 1-0 lead to Croatia, courtesy of Jonathan Walters' early goal at the Britannia Stadium.

"We would have liked another goal or two but if we get another goal there, they've got to score three," Wilkinson told BBC Radio Stoke.

"It's in our hands and I'm sure it will be a great experience for us." The full-back continued: "Playing at a foreign stadium like that in a competitive game won't be easy.

"We'll have to be on top of our game and play like we did in the first half of the first leg."
