Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins believes that the Blues will need to strengthen their backline next season.

Chelsea have enjoyed a stunning campaign so far under Antonio Conte and it is surely just a matter of time before the Blues go on to lift the coveted Premier League title this season.

The impressive Chelsea side currently has no apparent weaknesses but despite their fine performances, club legend Wilkins believes that Conte will need to reinforce at the back during the upcoming summer in order to sufficiently deal with the added workload of the Champions League next year.

"They'll be delighted to be in that Champions League, they would have missed it immensely this season," Wilkins told Sky Sports.

"It will be very interesting, I'm sure Antonio will have a few names up his sleeve that he would like to bring in. Defensively they have spoken about bringing players in.

"But at this moment in time they just need a few additions to keep themselves bubbling along - they are all young enough and they all look absolutely superb at the moment."
