Ray Wilkins suggests his role at Aston Villa is likely to be his last in football in a coaching capacity.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and QPR star was appointed as Tim Sherwood's assistant at Villa Park earlier this summer and although he is loving the job, he has indicated that perhaps it will be his final one as a coach.
"This will probably be my last gig," the ex-QPR, Fulham and Jordan national team boss said recently.
"I'm 59 next month and while Claudio Ranieri has come back in at Leicester at 63, it's very unusual that you get another chance at that age."
Wilkins, who has previously acted as assistant at Chelsea, Watford, Millwall, Fulham and with the England U21s, admits he is thoroughly enjoying his time as Villa's number two.
"It's brilliant here," he added.
"The banter is good, they're a good bunch of boys and there's never a grumble.
"They have worked really hard over the summer, too.
"I was perfectly happy doing media, a bit of radio, a bit of television.
"But I've got to say when Tim made that phone call it gave me a new lease of life."
