Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins is in the frame for the job at Birmingham City.
Wilkins has been linked with a return to Chelsea as part of Guus Hiddink's backroom team.
But the Daily Star Sunday says he has emerged as a contender to boss Birmingham following the shock resignation of Alex McLeish.
Other front-runners for the St Andrew's job include ex-Newcastle boss Chris Hughton, sacked West Brom gaffer Roberto Di Matteo and ex-Nottingham Forest chief Billy Davies.
Declaring his interest, Wilkins added: "I'm not one of those people who say it's the Premier League or nothing. I have managed in lower leagues."
