Former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins feels David Moyes' squad is six players short.
While Wilkins accepts it is a 'massive transitional period' for United, he has urged the club to give Moyes time and funds to fix things right.
"This is a massive transitional period for Manchester United," Wilkins told talkSPORT.
"Unfortunately, David needs five or six players. It's going to take two or three windows to put right what has gone slightly wrong at Manchester United.
"It is a great club, it always will be a great club, but David needs time and assistance. Disgruntled fans aren't really going to help."
