Ray Wilkins didn't see his Chelsea axe coming, it has been revealed.
Carlo Ancelotti was said to be uncomfortable with the decision but significantly seems to have done very little to save his No 2.
Chelsea did not give any official explanation for parting company with their former skipper.
And a source close to Wilkins told The Sun: "This came as a complete shock.
"He had no offer of a new deal but took it on trust that it would be a formality.
"He feels extremely hurt and betrayed."
