Ray Wilkins has again called on Chelsea to deal in Frank Lampard. The former Blues coach says his old club need to hang onto Lampard's experience.
Wilkins told Absolute Radio: "Yes well you know as well as me buddy that when you have got senior players with the ability of Frank and still the fitness levels of Frank, you can't afford to let them go man, not only from a playing point of view but also teaching the younger players that are coming through what the team is all about what the club is all about.
"If you look at your own club Wrighty Arsenal, the likes of Adams, Keown, Bould, yourself, you had top senior players that taught the younger ones coming through what Arsenal was all about. And I think that's what football clubs at the top level are about, you look at Sir Alex Ferguson, the finest manipulator of an older player that we have probably seen in the Barclays Premier League."
Wilkins was talking to Ian Wright of Absolute Radio Rock n' Roll Football. Every Saturday from 5pm on 1215AM. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football.
