Christian Wilhelmsson's agent has denied that the Swedish international is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester City.

Wilhelmsson is expected to leave Nantes following their relegation from the French top flight and spent last season on loan at Roma.

His agent Fabio Alho said: "It's not correct."

Alho refused to comment on whether Middlesbrough were in for the winger.
