Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy has hailed matchwinner Ben Watson after Saturday's win at Tottenham.
McCarthy acknowledges Roberto Martinez will have a tough decision on his hands if James McArthur is fit for next weekend's visit of West Brom.
"Ben was brilliant, stepping in for James (McArthur)," McCarthy told the Wigan Observer.
"He was spreading the ball around really well and keeping the tempo of the game at the level, which we wanted. Obviously he came up with the winning goal which was great for him and he really deserved it.
"I'm delighted he did so well - he's a confident player and that was there for everyone to see."
