Wigan's King chasing permanent Hull deal

On-loan from Wigan Athletic, Marlon King admits he hopes his double against Newcastle helps him earn a permanent deal at Hull City.

King told the Hull Daily Mail: "I've only got to prove myself right that I'm good enough to be here.

"It took me a while to get my first for Wigan and people will say it didn't work out for me there.

"I didn't get as many as I'd like last season, and I'm sure a few didn't, but when you've got to stay in the Premier League, you do things that are foreign to you like defending.

"I'm not making excuses, but now I'm at Hull and I'm delighted to be here and playing Premier League football regularly."
