Wigan striker Emile Heskey has allayed fears over his ankle injury saying he is hopeful of returning to action in a couple of weeks.
Heskey picked up the injury during Wigan's amazing 5-3 win over Blackburn at the weekend.
"It is not too bad and it is actually better than we feared," Heskey told Sky Sports News.
"I had a scan straight after I came off to make sure it was not broken or anything.
"It is better than I thought so hopefully in a week or so it will be okay."
Heskey concedes he is likely to miss next weekend's clash with Fulham, but he has his sights on a return against Aston Villa on 29th December.
"Fulham away is probably a bit too early for me," added Heskey.
"Aston Villa [at the end of the month] we will have look at that and see how it goes from there."
