Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey will be given the go-ahead to start his comeback next week.

The England star is to be allowed to take off the 'skiboot', which protects his broken foot, next Tuesday on the first step towards a recovery for club and country.

He may be able to kick a ball in around a fortnight, but is a month away from returning to first-team action.
