Wigan's Heskey close to return

Wigan Athletic boss Chris Hutchings says Emile Heskey is close to a return.

The England strike ace, 29, has been out since he broke a metatarsal in the 1-1 draw against Fulham in mid-September.

But Hutchings hopes to receive some positive news that his key man could play some part against Arsenal after the international break.

He said: "If we could put him on the bench in a few weeks and then put him on for 20 minutes then that would be great.

"But it depends on the medical side of things. He's going to see his specialist again this week about whether he can step up his training and work load."
